Passed away at age 95.

"In a bizarre twist to his career, he became an icon in hardline communist Albania, where his movies were among the few Western cultural products permitted."

Norman Wisdom was a favourite of mine as a kid. Loved his singing voice and he always played as far as I remember) the down trodden character.

Thanks Eric, I was just about to post this news as I saw it on the BBC website.
He was a very funny man.
RIP Norman.

Gosh, I had to strain the brain cells really hard to remember who he was; vague recollections are slowing coming back.

I grew up watching him with my father every week during the 70's. For the life of me, I can't remember what the tv show was called, but I remember we all laughed hard when his show was on. Or was it the 80's the show was played, because now I remember thinking back in the 80's how much he looked like Doc Neeson from The Angels (or were they re-runs?).
95 is certainly a great innings.

Suzy, Norman made lots of films from just after WW2 till the late ninteen seventies with a few after then.
He was part of the bunch of comedians to rise out of the ashes of WW2.
His favourite thing was to be always falling over.
He had a great singing voice, with his signiture song" Don't laugh at me cause I'm a fool".
He was part of a great group of British comedians, now sadly departed.:(

A great comedian, one of the classics.

He definitely had a full life at 95.

RIP Norman

Thanks for that info Ron.:thanx:
I seem to remember a weekly tv show though, in the 70's or early 80's, similiar theme to Dick Emery Show.
