Given the lack of imaging time lately, I thought id add a bit of "vibrancy" to an old washed out image I took in the good 'ol days of decent apature :(.
Its one of the few I actually got stars about right :P.

Wow that tarantula has some nice depth in it, and yes the stars look right.
Love the swirling gas clouds

Thanks Martin, Rolf. I lost some deep neb in the Sid, but its a difficult one to avoid messiness generally, backing off sometimes on lum curves renders more asthetic effect.

Oh the Sid bug has bit :D
Yeh, that was a beauty Fred . But and although I like'em, I can see why you hate stars, they do dominate in this image huh?

Thanks Guys. Nice of you not to point out the nasty processing artifacts :), I have to stop doing that.
Yes, the stars dominate, but I dont mind, nice change. And those red ones arnt hot pixels, as far as I can tell ;).
Interesting pointing them out, hadnt thought of them being carbon stars.

Now that is busy Fred. Nice detail and star size. Colour may be a bit bright for me but the overall punch of the image is great.

Striking image Fred. I like how you've done it overall and I like the colour. Looks to me like it could take a bit more selective sharpening though??
Greg.
