Hi all.

Not a very good one but thought I'd post it anyhow. Seeing was shocking so I lost the extension tube & just used the 2X barlow. I think it helped a bit.

The image looks slightly distorted to me, specially the banding on the globe. :confuse3:

248 stacked out of 2000. refractor & toucam.

Ta Hough-meister. How come you don't image planets mate? You have all the gear for it don't you? Or perhaps you do but don't post 'em. Whats the story Dave?

what would you rate your seeing as?

your cassini division is similiiar to mine.

my magnification is around 1000 with the 5x powermate

i like saturn now!

Not yet, I like the pretty sparkly bits although I do love jupiter and saturn maybe this year I might get the bug for planets :)

Approximately 5-6/10. The only thing I did right was get 2000 frames. The more the merrier with ordinary seeing.

Hey Asi, nice, reckon I can see a hint on enke division on the left with this one and maybe some of the crepe? ring too. What would happen if you stacked say more than 1000; even if you're including more distorted frames it would maybe reduce the grain. What think you?

cheers,

Dennis

Nice one Asi - you are a very productive planetary imaging factory to be sure!

Cheers

Dennis

Well thank you Dennis. I'm out there every night without fail weather permitting (just ask my wife who is about to file for divorce I think!):confuse3:

Rob, that's the 1st thing I usually try (stack the lot) I must spend at least 3-4 hrs on most AVIs processing in different ways to be 100% sure I'm getting the best image possible. Once I achieve that image I delete the AVI....roll on external hard drive or memory stick!

Humph! As soon as the clouds and rain finally dissappear we will suffer the dreaded 'Summer Astronomy Blues'. Heat shimmer distortion and dust!

We can't seem to win! This is supposed to be the best part of summer before the heat and dust really settle in but we have been clouded out most of the time.

Come back Winter (I hate the cold but the sky is magic!)
