The award-winning SkyScout personal planetarium is a revolutionary handheld electronic device that uses advanced GPS technology with point and click convenience to identify thousands of stars, planets, constellations and more. It provides educational and entertaining information, both in text and audio. A fun learning tool for all ages, the SkyScout puts the knowledge of an expert astronomer in the palm of your hand.

SkyScout combines GPS technology, which automatically receives satellite information to determine the time, date and location of the user, with software that calculates the position of the celestial objects for that moment, and three axis sensors, which measure gravitational and magnetic fields to determine the true orientation of the SkyScout to the Earth. All of these hi-tech electronics are packaged into a device that can be taken anywhere: the compact and light design makes it easy to carry and its durable construction makes it safe for rugged environments.

Identify
Simply point the SkyScout at any star in the sky and click the "target" button. The SkyScout will tell you what object you are looking at. Identifies celestial objects with the click of a button - over 50,000 Stars, 1,500 Double and Variable Stars, all 88 constellations and over 100 deep space objects including Galaxies, Nebulae and Star Clusters.

Locate
To locate a star or planet, select the object's name from the menu and follow the directional arrows through the viewfinder. SkyScout tells you when you are on target - it's that easy! Locates stars, planets and constellations from its built-in celestial database and provides scientific information for each object (requires free update to firmware to version 1.3).

Learn
Once you have targeted an object the real fun begins. The SkyScout includes entertaining and educational audio and text information, including facts, trivia, history and mythology about the most popular celestial objects. Provides comprehensive text and audio descriptions of history, mythology and other entertaining information for over 200 of the most popular celestial objects.

Tonight's Highlights
