My mother recently found this old drawing that I did back when I was eight years old. I could spell, but couldn't draw for quits. LOL! Was I interested in space at a young age? Yes.
Well... that and aircraft and Datsun Cars... how did the song go?

Mate, I'd sent a design for an interstellar space craft which included a cyro chamber and even offered myself as a guinea pig to NASA when I was 13.
I think we may be all the same, geeks !!!

I've still got my copy of the Starfleet Technical Manual, purchased in the early 70's. Was most disappointed by the "Classified" covering the internal workings of the hand phasers and tricorders.
They are excellent drawings for an 8 yr old Chris, :painting:.
How great that your mum still had it, a real treasure I reckon.
That is so cool Chris
Yep, by the detail you drew on the enterprise, Trekkie for sure! Wow, what a great trip down memory lane for you. :)
I see the connecton... You drive to the airport in the Datsun, so you can hop on a plane and go to Houston so you can have lift off.
Bravo Suzy!!:lol: Sounds like a great trip, even in the s-t-r-e-t-c-h Datsun. ;)

hehe... :) Large Datsuns were pretty common in Japan at the time Liz, as that's where we were living. I always wondered why we only ever got the little ones over here. The largest at the time was the 240Z sedan if my memory serves... which it probably doesn't.
Geeze, had to imagine a looooong Datsun. My first car was a little Datsun .. Sunbird, I think was the name.

LOL Chris.
I had my Datsun 280zx stolen last year. 240Z were from late '69 to '74 if my memory serves me well.

Michael,
I still remember from when I was a kid in primary school, there was a Datsun 180B that used to drive past our place every day. It had a bumper sticker on it which proudly read: "Poverty is owning a horse".
It still makes me giggle.

LOL had the car, it was orange, had the sticker. Are you sure you didn't live in Sandgate H.??
I don't know which is the more expensive hobby. Horses or Astronomy.
We had a 180B back in the 80's. It had a sticker that said...
'Insanity is hereditary, you get it from your children'.
