Hi All,
Imaged Jup last night in reasonable seeing over a nearly 3 hr session.
The last 2 RGB & 807nm IR data sets feature Callisto.
Have attached 4 pairs of RGB & 807nm IR data sets.
It is interesting to blink between each RGB & IR pair as the anticyclones such as oval Ba are really bright in IR.
Tonight is also looking good, the mind is willing but my old body is crying out for some sleep.
Thanks for looking
Regards

Nice Trevor, seeing here was shocking. I watched the screen for 4 hours and then gave in when the cloud arrived. I could see a lot of detail but the planet was wobbling around all over the place. Mirror temp was 0.2 from ambient and local conditions were very still. Even high up when collimating on a star I noted quite a lot of movement. Just goes to show do not consider the jet stream charts as being accurate. It was supposed to be not present last night. Even up your way it suggested that the stream would be around 70ms which is ripping along. it is interesting to see that Callisto will not be transiting the disk for a few apparitions now due to the geometry of the alignment. If this infernal cloud and bad seeing keeps up I might have to drive up to your way and get some data.

No probs Paul, it must be very frustrating but the concrete pad that Bird setup on is certainly available.
Tonights charts look reasonable but the predictions suggest it will go down hill for the next few days, reckon we all live in hope of the jet moving a lot further north.
Trevor nice detail on Callisto

Trevor,
Well done bloke,
your results just always get better! Consistently improving certainly shows
you know what the heck you are doing and how to tweak something
to get a better result, night after night. Dedication!
Paul, I feel for you man, I've been doing PEC refinement runs every
night I can and yes, the seeing has been terrible.
Predictions have been way off what I have experienced. What a shocker
of a winter it has been.

Thanks for sharing your excellent work Trevor.
The constant parade of cloud down here is getting very tedious.

Thanks for your comment Troy.
Thanks Steve, yep always tinkering, some times for the better some times worst and some times it just takes longer to do and achieves nothing. Weakened last night and had an early night, the mind was willing but the body needed a bit of a rest.
Thanks Michaell, I will do better if the seeing improves just a little. Still have not had a night this apparition to compare with the best from last apparition. I hope the cloud clears for you while Jupiter is still around 50 arc sec's apparent dia.

Thanks Freddy, no, the seeing was not really good in fact I wouldnt say it was good at all, just reasonable. Thats the sort of year many of us have had, it has occassionally threatened to be good but has yet to get there, at least for me.
Regards
Trevor
