Hi All,

Imaged Jupiter last night, made an early start with Jup already above 45 degrees alt. Seeing was initially about 6/10 but continued to steady. My RGB & IR data sets are at approx 30 min intervals, that is the time it takes me to run them through ninox.

Minutes after the capture of my 2nd data set cloud rolled in, I stuck it out for another hour or so but the cloud just got thicker.

Normally I post only RGB's and 807nm IR images but the Red channel just prior to the cloud was a beauty so I have also attached it.

Live in hope for less cloud tonight.

Thanks for looking
Regards
Trevor

Awesome images Trev. I would sell my first born to be able to image like that.

Still too much cloud here.

Thanks for the views Trevor and good luck tonight.

I had some clear skies before sunset, but then the cloud moved in. I am still optimistic.

Great job Trevor - you have taken some terrific images of this close approach - thanks!

That was very wise of you to start early. I might have waited until Jupiter reached 55 degrees and lost the opportunity to image altogether. The images themselves are worth printing and framing particularly given their quality and the historic importance connected with Jupiter's closest opposition in 47 years.

Thanks David, just need some cooperation from the weather.

Thanks Clayton, hope it clears up for you.

Thanks Lester, reckon we all live in hope.

Thanks Matt, each night is getting just a little better.

Thanks for your comment Peter, reckon the go is to make the most of every opportunity that is presented.
