Colour space question

Hi all,

I have a quick question re colour space. I've seen it recommended that you should set the camera to Adobe RGB rather than sRGB, but that this will result in the images being bland before post processing. Is this what people generally use? And will that give me fore "flexibility" whan adjusting saturation/curves/levels etc during post processing? I'll be mostly using the GIMP for PP, but I assume it will be similar to Photoshop in this respect.

Any advice or comments appreciated.

I haven't read Charles' link, but, when it comes to shooting RAW, it makes no difference what colour space is used.

Personally, I process in Adobe RGB, and, when saving for web, convert to sRGB.

As per the above, it's not so important about what you're setting in the camera. What's more important is that once you download the RAW files and start working on them, be consistent and understand what colourspace you are in at all times. For this reason, it may be beneficial to have the camera set to AdobeRGB as well.

Not sure how familiar you are with GIMP, but you can set it to work with AdobeRGB etc.
