After seeing some of the excellent results others have been able to achieve using NB filters, I decided it was time to give it a go. I figured that I should start with something easy so I chose borring old M8.
My tracking was a bit eratic (~2 arc secs at times) but I'm still pretty happy with the tightness of the stars.
10 x 15 minute exposures.
Tak FSQ106 with QHY9.
Baader 7nM Ha filter.
Thanks for looking.

Nice shot Matt. Love M8...and in Ha to boot! :)
Surprised you centered on the lagoon. Your TAK fov should give you the whole vista even past M20.

Thanks Marc.
I was considering including M20 in the frame but I wanted to pick up the faint outer edges of M8 and the FOV of the FSQ & QHY9 is quite big enough (just waiting for a sub $1000 KAF11000 cam to come onto the market:lol:).
I've imaged M8 & M20 in LRGB which gives you an idea of my current FOV (see attached pic).
Great going Matt!
Has a nice soft 3D texture to it. Has come out wonderfully through the Tak.

Beautiful. H alpha is really subtle and good to look at.

The more I look at these b&w shots the more I like em.

Very mice Matt, Stars look good. One of the very nice things about using an FSQ is the guiding doesn't seem to matter quite so much at this focal length. The overall field is great and the processing is also very nice, Not over sharpened like I usually do.
Well done.
