Can someone explain why I have to constantly keep logging in?

I'm slow at typing (and thinking of wot 2 say to be honest:sadeyes:) then when I preview or send, I have to log in again, loosing what I have typed on occasions!:mad2::rofl:
Is there a time-out setting somewhere, I have looked but I can't find it.:confused2:

Also why is the time shown on posts seldom if ever correct, some late PM posts show up as AM. :confused2:

Thanks
Richard

Hi Rich

Sorry but your avatar looks like KR

if you use Mozilla to access instead of IE it will ask you if you want to save the password for the site also when logging in you can check the box saying stay logged in

this will only clear if you clear your logins and history etc under tools

Make sure your browser is set to accept cookies.

If it is already set, then you may have a corrupted cookie. Try deleting your cookies for the iceinspace.com site.

Hi.
Try this link:
Having to log in all the time (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=48345)

Hope that helps.

Richard,

For your time settings, go into the IceInSpace user control panel, and make sure your time zone is set correctly, to +10.

If you have been logged out (time out) then the time of the posts will display as GMT.

No need to be sorry Trev, it's only the white hair and glasses, oh, we also lean the same way.
I always do a clean after each session, also accept cookies. But to get timed out when I'm still on seems strange. I use Chrome.

As above, I always do a clean, helps in security.

Will see how I go, but I would think that "Remember me" is for different sessions.

H, the time zone is set to +10 & auto DST. Also checked computer time setting and location.:confused2:

Yep, that's cool.

As for you seeing bizarre timestamps on posts, that would happen when you're browsing as a guest or have been timed out. The forum defaults to GMT.

If you tick the little remember me box, you shouldn't get logged out whilst typing a reply.

If, as you say, you do a cache/cookie clean upon finishing browsing, then you will be required to re-log in again the next time you visit.

Yes, ticking the "Remember me" has solved my problem.
I assumed that this is simply for when you want to return after logging out.:P

Nope, it's so your cookie doesn't expire at all - even within the same session. Normally the cookie timeout is 15 minutes of inactivity.
