well I thought some might get a giggle out of this.
I have a friend in Melbourne who is a graphics designer and editor, from time to time I give him photographs to use in our club magazines.Occasionally he wants some of my photos to use in his work,I get paid for them.
A while back he asked for some astronomy photos,as he wanted some for a front cover of a brochure-I said I did not have any of that standard-he still wanted some so I sent a disc of various things-I forgot that the file had some I should have binned.
Anyhow,I strongly recommended to him to get other pics of other astronomers-which he did.The client was then asked to choose, which they wanted for cover, and what did they choose?-one of my reject photos-that looked like something Mr Bean would have taken if he had been into astrophotography!
So many things wrong with this photo, but it was chosen over some stunning
photos,My friend said even though I could see faults he and the client felt it suited what they wanted.Anyhow I was paid more than what I paid for second hand crappy 300d that took the photo,so It was all under the rules of 'Fair chase' I guess, and the money will go to my next "L"
