Hi David! :welcome: to the forum! How did you hear about us?

That's a great shot of Saturn too.. i've seen some nice stuff with the LPI, it *can* do some good stuff but in general people seem to prefer the ToUcam for the chip size and light sensitivity.

Very nice shot, hope to see some more from you!

Bloody brilliant David. What's your secret? I've found the LPI extremely frustrating. Hence the easy option of the ToUcam

Hi guys thanks for the welcome,
Stricker, I am in Fairfield .
I found the forum when I was looking for reviews on the GSO superview EP's.
I like the LPI I found it simple to use, just let the LPI do its stuff, not so with the Toucam, but thats me nothing wrong with the Toucam I just hate all the processing work.
I do have plans to get Jupiter this year just waiting till it gets out a bit earlier and clears some trees I have in the backyard.
No focal reducer used I am going to try Saturn again with a barlow though.
Here is a moon shot taken last year
LPI through a 4"F10 refrator 0.5 focal reducer, sorry can't remember the other details

South east Qld star party would be great.......

Even though I enjoy just getting out on the driveway browsing the skies......its hard to compare the enjoyment with a few friends having the same interests......and most of all you can learn heaps....

The 1 monthly meeting I was invited to by a club was terrific...everyone was so relaxed and friendly to talk too...in this environment I learned heaps....was great!

What Club Tony? I am a member of the SAS, Southern Astronmical Socity,
I got a couple of other friends with scopes, we get together all the time . the more the merrier.
Most months we head out to Leyburn which is 1/2 way between Warwick and Toowoomba. The club has a dark sky site there around 80 acres which is owned by one of the members,
excellent skies and good company, and lots of blokes who are willing to teach , it doesn't get better than this .
I think we may be planning a sesion for this weekend at a friends house at Parkinson, anybody's more than welcome to tag along.
pm me for the details.
David

To be honest....I am not sure.....Brian from the Science and astronomy shop at Normon Park invited me to come along...but its not his club.....it was at the Holand park state school on the 16th January 2005......they get together at this site once a month every 3rd sunday, I think they have their main members group at Indoroopilly every 1st sunday..but can be sure...you may know the club...

Parkinson..over near sunnybank....
