Corona Australis, close up

Hi all
With excellent conditions last night and little wind I decided to set up the 10 inch and do over 2 hours on Corona Australis.

Image is 15x 10 min subs ISO 200, MPCC coma corrector, Modded 350D with clear glass over sensor. No filters used at all, allowing IR light in as well, I find this shows dark nebulae better with more of that brownish hue.

Offaxis hand guided with Q guider cam image on the laptop while I watched both NRL semi finals in a window , true multitasking :) All while our heavy 7 kg cat sat on my lap.

There is a tiny faint red nebula I have shown in a full res. crop. Is that a planetary nebula? I remember reading somethign about it once.

Its does look like a planetary.

I like the uncropped image. Very nice work for sure. Great detail and the Cluster looks superb. Well done again Scott.

Awesome work Scott! Beautiful colors. :thumbsup: This red bit could also be the other symetrical end of the object below which I believe is a Herbic Haro object. The star responsible for it is probably burried in the brown muck in the center and not visible.

Really great shot Scott, you have pretty well masterd taking great shots in light polluted skies with a DSLR, you da master :prey2:

That's a fabulous image. That's the best I have seen the globular cluster in any image. It came out like a pile of pearls.

Just out of interest I see a double set of diffraction spikes which I once got in an image with a Tak BRC250. I got several comments about it meaning collimation was out. But I checked it and it wasn't.

What I concluded and what I have seen since is that its showing a double star where the stars are close together.

Yep, Greg when I first imaged this area with my 10 inch I thought something was off with my collimation, but it is 2 almost identical stars close together.
