Celestron C8 SGT, bought new in 2005. Just not being used any more, so I want to see it go to someone who will use it (and give me some cash;)).

Extras include:
Motofocus remote focusser
Baader solar filter
Dew Heater
dew shield
Piggy back bracket
Finderscope dew heaters (home made)
Celestron Anti-vibration pads
Celestron RS-232 Cable (#93920). This connects computer to hand controller for computer control of the mount via ASCOM and software of your choice.

Tripod has some superficial marks from transport and handling. Power cable has been modified to replace a damaged 12V plug, reduce voltage drop (heavier cable) and add a connector to allow it to fit through the conduit in the floor of my observatory. Hand controller is not the new flash upgradable one. Includes original short dovetail plate for use with a scope with tube rings.

$1300 for the lot (SOLD), pick up at Oberon, or I'm prepared to drive up to 2 hours to meet/deliver, or I can bring with me to IISAC'10 for hand over. I don't have the original boxes so freighting is probably out of the question.

I also have a PST that's just not being used either any more. SN 100300. It did have the dreaded objective rust, but it went back to Coronado and was fixed under warranty. Its a great little scope for getting into Ha solar observing/imaging. It is fitted out in a small red tool box for transport storage and protection, which I'll include if you pick up the scope, but if you want the scope mailed I'll put the scope back in the original box and packaging for safe transport (i.e I'll keep the toolbox, but they are not expensive). Standard 20mm Kellner EP included. $530 plus postage!;) The only reason I'm not using it is I have the ED80 setup in the obs and I have an SM40 and B1200 blocking filter to use on that.

Sorry there's no photos yet... I'm writing this so I have to take some to post tomorrow!:P

OK here's some photos of my PST.

1. The box.
2. The box opened. The PST is kept in original packing inside the toolbox, with foam over the top just in case the box gets up ended somehow. The scope is a tigh fit in the packing hence the plastic straps to help lift the scope out.:)
3. The all important business end of the PST. Clean and clear of scratches and "rust":).
4. Another view of the scope and the standard 20mm Kellner EP.

1. Celestron Motofocus (was $340 new) included with the OTA.
2. This is how this whole scope transports: tripod, and 1 box for the mount and one for the OTA.
3. Included with the mount and tripod are the manual, RS232 cable and anti-vibration feet.
4.Here's the mount set up. Oh, I forgot to mention there's a GPS unit included with the mount!
5. Hand controller and GPS unit. The hand controller is not one of the new flash upgradable ones but the mount is compaitble with a the upgradable hand pieces.
6. Note the paint is worn away where the tripod rubbed when being transported in my truck.
7. Normal wear and tear type scratches in the dovetail mount. Nothing of concern here.
8. Also included is a short dovetail for another scope, just add rings to suit:).

More to follow...

1. This is how the OTA packs into the box, so the piggy back mount and the finderscope can stay in position.
2. Scope on the mount with dew heater strap on.
3. Scope on the mount.
4. Rear view of the scope and the piggy back mount.
5. Motofocus installed.
6. Another view of the motofocus.
7. The is some dust on the corrector plate but not enough to warrant a clean as yet. The corrector plate has only been cleaned once in its life and there are no scratches on it that I can detect.
8. Scope with the dew shield in place.

Just a couple more now...

Al, you deserve a prize for your presentation. This is how for sale ads should be written up!

I'm so tempted by the C8, but, $$$ is a touch restrictive at the moment. D'oh!

Thanks H. The C8 is an excellent scope, I have really enjoyed it. Unfortunately I can't afford the mount to have the C11, C8 and ED80 all side by side! I did hang onto it for a while with the intention of being able to swap scopes in the obs, but really that largely defeats the advantages of the obs. So I'd rather see it go to someone who'll use it. I think its a good buy if you take into account the extras for the price, but then I am the vendor!:)

I've dropped the price on the PST to $530 + postage.

If you want the scope posted, I'll put it back into its original box and packaging for safe transport and I'll keep the toolbox (they are not expensive to buy). If, however, you are prepared to pick it up you can have the toolbox as well.;)
