With a number of vic's buying telescopes this week and last, I can pretty much understand how this happened...

I think it has more to do with the moon phase myself.
Just as the moon starts to go away, the clouds come.
i'd say thats a coincidence starkler. we all know that astro purchases do this. they also bring the moon out ;)

It is beyond 'rainy' here.
2cm hail, thunderstorms for the third day in a row, massive winds and HOT! Yuk!
Glad I chose this week to pull my 3.5" refractor apart to do some work on it coz there is no seeing.
It is ALL because of the new scopes bought in Victoria!

I know it's all my fault... currently got thunder here at 3:30pm !!! and I just found a nice spot inside near the front window that gives me a view of part of the sky so that I dont have to constantly carry that 27kg monstrosity outside all the time...

You will have to open the window. It doesn't work properly through glass!
stand outside with some binos!
scope doesnt get wet then...
and you get a great view of the clouds :P

Flywire might be good.
It might look like a grid on Lunar viewing! :stupid:
