HH555 and Mountains

Hello,

This next image represents a two frame mosaic in a 6 filter image. I am a details and resolution junky so I threw everything I had at the data and am pretty excited about the results.

Using MSDLB with decon and different sharpening aspects I was able to resolve some nice details in the HH155 bi-polar jet. I sent the results to Bo Reipurth, a professional who has done allot of work in this area and he was impressed enough to send me his Ha and SII images taken with the 4 meter KPNO. I have included a crop of my image and of what Bo sent me with a link to his paper on it.

Exquisite detail resolved at the tip of the 'Elephants Trunk'.
Nice transition between RGB and the narrow band channels.
Seamless mosaic....

The emphasized contrast to the darker dust areas has the image standing out on the computer screen... Lovely!

Incredible image, and the level of detail is so deceptive until you get right in close. Fascinating to see the pics from the 4m too. Shows just how far modern astrophotography has come in recent years. Top stuff!

I hard part with this image is how much contrast and detail to show as the area is shrouded in haze and with processing you can cut throught that. I tried to have a balance between showing the details and letting the haze do it's thing also. Hard choices as you can go either way . . .
