Boulders and a rock shelf protrude out from under streaking waves as they crash and recede in front of me.

Captured moments after sunset at a gorgeous location north of Sydney.

Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM
4s f/16.0 at 17.0mm iso400

Comments, critique, etc., most welcome.

This is just stunning, H. Wonderful contrast between the rocks and the soft misty water and those "god rays" streaming through the clouds is just perfect! Really love this.

Beautiful shot. I'm on an uncalibrated monitor at the moment, but reckon the colour could do with a little more saturation :P

Barry,

Cheers. Something a little different to the saturated colourful ones.

Shelly,

Thanks, missy. Those God rays are actually waves that have splashed on the rocky formations a little further distant out. : )

Stuart,

Thanks!

Troy,

Ric,

Cheers!

Thanks, all.

Love it! The composition really works with the hole in the sky ahead, the directions of the wave like a fan and the light. Almost gives an impression of curvature. You've also got enough variety in the foreground rock texture to make the shot even more interesting. All come together to form a master piece. Very nice.

Marc,

You got it all -- you found the curve in the rock path leading to the hole in the sky! Excellent. : D : D : D

I'm chuffed, now. : D
