It would be interesting to see two photos taken of the same planet on the same night with the DSI and Toucam trying your best with both photos for comparison.
I believe the DSI would come second best.
I know it’s taking me some time to get to know how to use the DSI properly.
:confuse3:

In all seriousness Dave...I'd love to meet you..& everyone else, for that matter. But I don't think I can make it, which is a real pity cos' it'll more than likely be my last oportunity before I move to the US :scared2: Suffice to say I'll try 'N' pull all stops to get there though!

Gee...I forgot all about this post!

Thanks David for digging that up.
I think I know the answer to my question now, anyway we'll see what you guys can come up with in snake valley. :)

I now know that the DSI does a decent job of the moon but the planets still allude me.

I have both the DSI and Toucam. The Toucam is superior for planetary work. I tried using the DSI for the gas giants and it fail miserably. All my good stuff has been taken on the Toucam. Save yourself some money and get the toucam. I use my DSI once a year now, don't know why I bought it. Rush of Blood. Anyone want to buy it? 350.

I think the name says it all, DSI, Deep Sky Imager
comparing the ToUcam to the DSI on planets is like comparing apples to oranges
You want a comparision try the Toucam and DSI on Deep sky stuff, at least that way you will be using one camera for what it was intended for.

cheers
David.

Paul, I might buy that DSI off you.. now that I have tracking, and I don't have a DSLR, it might be my way of getting into the DSO imaging.
