Whale Blown Up ????

I know it's supposed to be the most humane thing they could have done but seriously is anyone out there just a little uncomfortable about Authorities "BLOWING UP" a sick whale off the coast????????
Apparently a gun would not have been humane to put it down, what is this world coming too.
Nature has to run its course not a stick of dynamite, what will we do next?

If it is quick I have no problem, I don't like seeing anything suffer unnescisarily. Having said that I have no idea of the individual circumstances of this situation, you'd hope those responsible would make the right decision.

I saw this story, thinking about it, there would be no other way of putting down such a large beast very quickly.

I'm sure they will be using some form of shaped charge to direct a fatal injury to the right place. They won't just be piling sticks of dynamite around it. I think the world has learnt from the following:-

I guess they would have needed a truckload of morphine to do it too, and a huge needle!

I agree with this. the only way a bullet could do this if it was i high power rifle eg 50. cal because of the whales thick skin bluber and its massive skull i doubt that even a 50. cal could do this.. it would have been the only humane way to do it as said in the last post i doubt that thay would have stuck TNT all over the place thay prob would have just placed a small charge of c4 or TNT in a spot that would kill straight away
