Hi All
Does anybody have any decent plans/diagrams/photos for a home made wedge for a Celestron CPC1100?
Cheers

Hi Neil,
not yet, but I'm super keen to make one, I just got a quote from Milburn to get one shipped but it will cost...
$599 Std MW for CPC, black, Mid lat
$30 optional keypad holder
$6 packing
$279 Airmail shipping to melbourne
Total $914 USD (which is not too bad really for a solid aluminium wedge I guess - I think 1" thick base plate")
But still a lot, so I'm sure I could build one just as strong in steel for a 1/4 of the price.
My local Laser cutter in Tullamarine can cut 10mm sheet, but $150 minimum charge for any job.
10mm would be ok for steel but may be too thin for Aluminium.
Anyway, once I progress a bit further I'll let you know, it might cost only a little more to get 2 cut at the same time.

Hi Neil,
I have found some links that might help.
This one seems the best, but will need some slight mods for the CPC 1100
http://website.lineone.net/~tony.floyde/HOME%20PIER.htm (this link even has DWG's for a nice looking wedge and Pier)
I'm going to send the dwg's to a laser cutter and get an idea of pricing and will let you know.
Other wedge designs, pics and info that I found while trawling......

I have not built a wedge for a cp1100 but I did make a steel wedge for a LX200 12" with offcuts of steel from the local steel store, a welder, a drill press and a couple of small turning jobs on the lathe.
I will attach the drwaings. They may be of some use.
