A good mate, Joe and myself took this image of M8 last Saturday night.
It is a composition of 2 hours and 10 minutes plus dark's at 5 minutes subs at 1600iso.

Taken at prime focus of my Saxon ED80 using my modded Canon 350D with a Baader 7nm HA filter, piggybacked on my trusty LX200 and guided with a DSI.

Stacked with DSS and processed in CS3, not too sure if the processing is right but it sure brought out some interesting colours. Image was cropped.

Sky conditions were nearly perfect.

Good FOV / Framing. Not sure about the colours though. Nice one..

Lots of good data makes a difference. Nice detail... longing for a clear night...

Thanks Paul, the colours are a bit iffy' first time processing this type of image but it does look interesting.

How we long for clear nights and yes lots of data is the key, I don't think in this image there is enough but it's a start.

Nice image - and a decent amount of data.
I'm not clear on your processing though - is this image a combination of Ha and RGB data or just Ha?

With my Ha images, I discard the G and B channels and just keep the R where most of the data resides. I tried it with your image - hope that's OK.
Core detail is lost a bit, but you can see the faint nebulous stuff on the periphery of the object.
Cheers

Hi Doug,
The data is all Ha, mate you sure brought out a lot more and taught me something else in the process.

The image was a test shot against a rising moon with a filter that's been used but with not enough use.

Thanks Doug.
