While I was away I also got some images of Saturn. The seeing was not as good as the first night we were at Clayton, still it was good at easily 8/10. This first one is with the 2.5x powermate. Nice and sharp, but not so good that cassini's division is one sharp line all the way around.

The second one is a 75% reduction from the original size with the 5x powermate. The image was so large it was over 4 inches on the screen. The seeing was good, but needed to be better to use the full size.

Anyway they are. Hope you like them.

Have you ever tried a wider field to get in a few moons, or do they move to quickly?

Great images, Paul. Personally I like the smaller one, but picking up some nice detail with the larger scale. Pity about the 'above average' seeing. We've had terrible conditions here for weeks. 9.25 seems to be working well too. :D L.

Hey thanks guys, Hoping that Saturn gets a lot brighter than it was on that night. While the seeing was around 8/10 Saturn was very dim. With really long focal lengths it can be very hard to observe fine focus. As a result I think I was slightly out of focus for both images. More so for the 5x image than the 2.5x. Still this is the best image of Saturn that I have ever obtained. Collimation could also do with a slight tweek.
