Don't know if it has been posted earlier, but amateur astronomer Masayuki Tachikawa has recorded a possible impact flash on[/URL] 18:22 UT on August 20th:

It's not confirmed by other observations yet, but it does look very much like Anthony's latest impact.

I not sure but it is possible the impact occured earlier and the flash is more the explosive result of an earlier impact. Anthony captured a hole created and the flash was seen later.

A clear image should show a hole circling Jupiter.

Sorry Malcolm, that is not right.

Anthony Wesley captured two completely separate impact events. On the first one, no live impact was seen, just the scar. The second impact was about a year later and all that was seen was the brief flash from the impact on the video capture stream, but no scar resulted from the impact.

There was a report on NASA website sometime ago, which I believe may have changed now so yes I am wrong. The report though was a flash of light but left no scar. It was said to be the explosion as a result of the initial impact. The main explanation was jupiters intense gravity took a long time for the flash to appear from the centre where the asteroid/comet finally exploded. I cant find the article so I can only be wrong. Sorry.

Hi guys, this looks like a similar event to the one on June 3. You can see the video here:
