Inconvenient as it was, I got voting out of the way this morning and just as quickly, it was forgotten.

My good friend Anthony was kind enough to drive and accompany me on a very big day of adventure in the Canberra mountains and national parks....

LOL, that old car doesn't look like it's going anywhere in a hurry.

Nice playground near your place. It's been several years since I've seen snow. Nice for a change - still it's freezing here on the coast.

That Wren stood still long enough to get a shot - beautiful colours up close.

Hi Baz,
Tis a beautiful place up the top of the range when covered by snow. And when its blowy and snowing it gives a greater appreciation for the survival abilities of the snow gums in that climate. The old car is probably the one used for a ski tow by the Canberra Alpine Club in their local ski fields at Mt Franklin. You can find a detailed and interesting history of the Mt Frankilin area in Mathew Higgins' "Skis on the Brindabellas" - Its a good read. Glad you made it up there in the white, it really is a special place.

Thanks gang! I think I'll be heading back up there real soon. We just had three more nights in a row of snow dumping up there.

Yesterday I tried to drive to Corin forrest, but they have locked the gates on the Corin road about 3k's in. It's bitumen all the way to Corin Dam, so the snow cover must be horrendous for them to shut it!
