Carefull, theyve stopped selling it because they use a different version (in house) version for Sky X. Tpoint for windows doenst work any more.

Take yr pick, use Sky 6 and Tpoint for windows (if you can get it) or pay for the Sky X upgrade (and there version of Tpoint, bonus is you dont need to purchase pinpoint).

Thanks Fred ... I already have TheSky6 and was wanting Tpoint for it.
I would consider the new Sky X but they want 75bux a year as well as the purchase price ... that isnt sitting too well at the moment. I have always found Sky6 to be OK ... I have read that the new version rocks however.

So was hoping that someone who takes the step up to TheSkyX will no longer need their TPoint and consider selling it.

Can you tell me why I would need PinPoint if I had TPoint ?? ... There may be something I dont understand here.

Tpoint is a mount modelling tool that uses pinpoint to extract position data from a star data base file, you need both unforch.

I'm pretty sure pinpoint light comes inside the sky 6 and works with tpoint.
I seem to remember you need a decent star database for it all to work properly.

Pinpoint light is very limited inclusion with DL maxim only, no good with other apps. Tpoint doesnt come with Sky6, comes with a PME, Sky X has included its own version of pinpoint at extra cost. CGC 1.1 (whatever, that might be wrong) guide star catalog is huge and free, google it.

Yep, just had a look and I was using maxpoint not tpoint. Sorry for the confusion but it's been a while.
Jeff, check out maxpoint if you have maxim. Does the same as tpoint, acts as an ascom hub, so maxim, the sky ect connect to maxpoint and it controls the scope. It's US$150 so a lot cheaper than tpoint.
