Here's another Triffid - I appreciate its not original but I was pleased with it as it was my first attempt at guiding with Maxim.

Also pleasing to cope with the worst of the colour gradient. My flats aren't quite there yet but I'm making progress - mind you, a bright object covers a multitude of sins.

Might try and capture some Ha to add to this over the next couple of weeks.

Taken with the ST8300M through the new RC8 - 11 x 5 minutes L and 8 x 2.5 minutes each for R, G and B.

I'm a happy chappy - but feedback would also be gratefully accepted.

Pete, Flats drama or not, its a benchmark image that you should be pleased with. As you sort through your equipment woes, it helps to publish a few images now and then - test the waters (and sanity). I think you're correct in that you've not totally sorted your flats, but you're close. A little too dark (possibly clipped) in the top left. I'm sure you'll get it sorted soon. Keep them coming.

Focus is spot on, so the data you have is good, processing is an ever learning curve. Practice while it wont make perfect , does improve things

Thanks for the feedback guys

Jase, I agree with the dark corners - probably a combination of clipping and flats still not quite there (but getting closer).

Clive, agree with the learning curve. Its awfully steep but a lot of fun too - especially when it works

Good effort well done I would personally have just stuck to more longer subs to display more of the blue nedbula

Thanks for the comments guys.

Trevor, I agree - longer subs and more of them. I was surprised there was as much blue nebulosity as turned out.
