Anyone from the Central Coast group going to the Border Stargaze 1-5 September in Albury. ?
I was thinking about it, but I may go and check out this potentially great site at Dalgetty. Remote farmland.
on my way to Melbourne instead.
So see you at IISAC.

Yeah good idea Geoff.................
Sounds like a blatant unprovoked attack on our normally unblemished Character.:poke:
Us Geoff's will have to stick together at IISAC and fend off any further such attacks.

Looking good for tonight!
Just not sure if I bring the LB, what scopes will be there?
Rick Petrie
11-09-2010, 09:26 AM
Yeah Jakob it looks really good for tonight. It has been unusually quiet on this thread for likely starters. Has there been a lak of interest and enthusiasm from all the people who once frequented the PC in the past or have we scared them off? :scared3:
There should be a few 10" scopes but Greg may bring his 14.5" or others??????
Cheers see you there.:)
LOL guys, will try and make an appearance but I don't like my chances.
I've missed everyone's company though so I'll try very hard.
Stoggie levels are running very low at the moment because I haven't had a chance to go out and stock up.
Conditions here atm are clear and beautiful, should be a great night for you tonight.
Hope to see you all but it will depend on my work load.
Cheers

Weather & sky atm are looking great.
But sorry guys, can't make tonight. I'm still scopeless. I thought it would have come back from the States by now. Meanwhile the wait continues... the last I heard could be another 3-4 weeks?
Have a good night everyone. Tony.

Hi Jakob,
I wondered what had happened to you.
What are you doing for the next few days? I was thinking of getting away somewhere dark for a bit. Always looking for company. Any suggestions?
Anyway, last night, a good night was had by all.
I got there by 10:30 myself and a few had already been, saw, and left.
Thanks Geoff, Geoff and Rick for the wonderful views. Jupiter was brilliant, in patches. Good to catch up with Deeno and Greg again.
I guess next meeting will be IISAC. For those who are coming ... See you there.
Rick Petrie
12-09-2010, 03:44 PM
Yeah guys another excellent night shared by the faithful.
Highlights for me were the three major galaxies M31, NGC253 and NGC55.
Globs were super sharp as was Jupiter in moments of great seeing.
Thanks to all and for the looks through all the various other scopes.:)
Sorry you guys couldn't make it RB and Jakob.
See all at IISAC.

Great Night and good company again..Thx guys....
I saw a stack of Doubles in Delphinus and other Contstellations as I happily punched in the co-ordinates one after the other on the Coffee grinder SCT.
Whats happened to the numbers we used to get there ????
The seem to be dwindelling:confused2:
GTB_an_Owl
12-09-2010, 07:29 PM
must be the noise of that coffee grinder Geoff :scared3:
only two clouds in the sky ALL nite - and the funny thing was, they didn't move much :P
not one of our better nites i would say - number wise or seeing
but it was GOOD
moon transit of Jupiter was good, when the seeing allowed.
dew killed us in the end
and we surprised a regular visitor to Richmond as to just how cold it can get on OUR mountain, if you don't come prepared
hope to see you and the 12" again Sasup (or will it be a 16" next time ;) )

Thanks all for a short but good night.
Disappointing how bright the Sydney sky glow was though.
Maybe a couple of major football events had something to do with it.
