Where can I get some tough double sided adhesive that will last a lifetime under freezing temps and loads of dew? :P Well maybe not that good? Thanks for any pointers. :thumbsup:

If not spotlight or a sewing place, try 3M. That's their forte:)

Do you want the double sided adhesive tape? or are you after adhesive velcro?

Adhesive backed velcro is available from Bunnings.

If you are after serious double sided adhesive tape try an automotive shop such as Supercheap Auto, Auto One, etc as there are many car trims held in place with black double sided tape.

My experience has been that the 3M product in Bunnings, although a little more expensive than the 3rd party products, has a more aggressive glue and the hook and loop structure grips more strongly than some of the cheaper alternatives.

If you cannot get any self adhesive backed Velcro, then 3M also produce a double sided adhesive tape strip for outdoors applications that also has extra strong glue. I have used this on plain backed Velcro and it appears to stick very well. Again, I saw the stuff in Bunnings.

Trying to make stuff hold on to my pier mount. At the moment I use double sided tape. When temp goes down everything falls off including my USB hub :sad:. That's how I know it's cold.



Yeah I love it. It's like living there. But wait... there's more. My best mate works there. :)

When I was living in Rockhampton if we got bored on Sunday's it was off to Bunnings to have a look around.
Usually went home with a boot load of goodies as well (but not like the supercheap ad)

I use the Velcro TM stuff (http://www.velcro.com.au/) which you can buy at KMart or Big W, i use it in below zero temps and never had a problem, just a tip make sure you get all your surfaces clean before adhesion so it'll stick better, for that i use PrepSol which is what panel beaters use.

Back in 1992 I was re-building a vacuum former and to make the mould cool quicker we installed a great double centrifical blower. I fiddled with a plastic deflector to get the air-flow in the best direction.
So that I could evaluate it I used some standard double sided tape (wouldn't be without it) to fix it. I never got around to a permanent fixture. Checked it last year and it is still stuck there and I could not get it off.
