First clear night in weeks.

Unguided - couldn't nail alignment perfectly - ED80 - Canon Kiss F (1000D) - ISO400 - field flattener - Bahtinov mask for focus.

10x3 min 2x5 min, calibrated with library master dark - getting late - so no new darks no flats.

All processing with Pixinsight.

Hi Rowland

Nice FOV, I love the ED80 the shots which can be produced through your scope are great. I really like the wide field of view. M20 is the highlight nice colors and good contrast. M8 too is well picked out but there seems to be a little bit of coma in the top left hand corner. Considering its a refractor not coma maybe the colimation is out?

Focus is good too Rowland, I look forward to seeing more excellent photos from you.

Best Regards Paul.

That is very pretty Rowland,

Having M20 tucked in the corner and ALL THOSE stars in between really sets this frame off. Nebulosity looks nice and there is a lot of detail, focus looks excellent.

A bit jealous of the ED80, certainly delivers the goods. Maaaaybe a little purple to my eyes, possibly tone down the red / blue a bit?

Well done! You might have to graduate into Deep Space before too long if you keep this up.

Cheers

Chris

Thanks guys.

I'll look into the coma issue more closely - thanks Paul for pointing that out.

Chris, I've posted a less blue version. Normalisation helps and requires more attention during image integration.

Hi Rowland

I don't think its coma, but maybe your colimation. try another image on another night and see if its still there. If its coma you will see stretching on all 4 corners.

Regards Paul.

Hi Paul.

On closer inspection, 3 corners, except for the lower right are affected in diminishing degrees. I'll do as you suggest - once it stops raining!!!
