Changed my iso

Hello :D

Well we managed to sneak in another night of astrophotography. With dew dripping off my nose and the scope we actually took a few photos.
I have one here which I would like your opinion on.
It is the dumbell nebula the exposure was
iso 800, 2 minutes x 7 total 14minutes,
unguided using an DLSR
plus a master dark. stacked by dss.

Your advice would be greatly sorted.

Nice work Paul,

Stars look pretty good for no guiding and 2 min exposures, must have nailed the alignment pretty well.

Very similar to what I saw of the Dumbbell in my 8" scope with some test 30 sec subs, but you have got a fair bit of the nebulosity with your 14 mins.

Keep it up, doing well so far....

Well there was a story re the alignment and tracking :lol:. It took me 40 minutes to get it right. For some reason the objects wouldn't be in FOV. The polar alignment was correct but the 3 star alignment was really shortening my fuse!!!!!!. :mad2: So finally the mount played ball, must be due to the fact I had a spanner in my hand ready to strike!. :D
I must say it is far easier removing noise with a iso of 800 compared to 3200. I really need to work on exposures and the histograph. Not to mention how to use the photo editing programs correctly.

By the way Chris your last photos you posted on the forum were excellent! Well done.

I have similar grumbly issues with my alignment and the stars in the "area" some of which I have never heard of!

Gotta get my guiding happening, sometime.....
