Hi,
I don't get to shoot the Northern part of the sky at home so took advantage of this at Astrofest.
Taken through W/O Flt 110 with Qhy-9 cooled to minus 20c. Guided PHD. Stacked using DSS and processed with photoshop. 80 minutes Lum with 10 min subs 1x1 bining with 30 minutes each colour RGB at 5 minute subs 2x2 bining.
Any comments welcome.

That turned out well for a northern object imaged in Australia.
How high in the sky was it in Qld?
Greg.

Nice shot there, Mark. They should hold Astrofest up north here some time. You'd get a much better view of M33/M31 and the rest of the objects in the north. That extra 8-10 degrees of latitude would work wonders:)

Thanks all. I just did a stellarium on M 31 from where I live (sunshine coast)and it shows this galaxy reaching a maximum of about 22 degrees above the horizon. I really love the orientation of this galaxy.
Great work Mark!
Looks like a successful night.

Thanks Rob,
Are you home??? I sit in my lounge listening to the rain bucket down. How cold was it Sunday am. Everythingfroze up. I was using the hair dryer to melt the ice on the mirror so it would then evaporate. I did the part of the veil east and the horsehead but was shooting through fog for that one. Posted here though. Adams thermometer registered -5
Have fun and good to catch up.
Mark
Yeah - we were planning to come up Thur, but rain looks pretty solid now, so packed up. Sun (Mon) night was good, but didn't get down to freezing again thank goodness. Yes - good to catch up again. All the best for Hawaii!
