Hi everyone:hi:,

Firstly i'll just like to say that you most definately do not need to use 500x magnification to see antares companion I tried again on this night and i saw it at 276x but obviously a lot closer but quite noticable, lots of fun with this double.

Well it was starting to get a bit darker and I wanted to sketch something and I was observing the lagoon nebula region when I saw the trifid nebula and I just wanted to sketch it too see how much detail i could pull out of it.

M20- Probally one of my favourite nebulas. Its so fun sketching this object as every minute you keep sketching something new pops out at you.Allright at first glance all I could see were the 2 middle stars in the middlewith faint haze around them. But after a while I started seeing some brighter regions and all the lobes came into view and i could see the trifid shape easily.to the right there was an orange coloured star with nebulosity surrounding it,i noticed to the bottom of it the was a brighter section.(sketch attached)

After i finished the sketch i decided to look at -

M13- One of the best globs out there,so many stars it has a very bright core with lots of stars sprinkled all over it,it was also quite large.

After this i decided to just look at the sky hoping i might see a sattelite or better a meteor. But instead i gazed at the true wonder of the milky way stretching form horizon to horizon and i could also see the emu shape easily.

I had a great night ,thanks for reading and viewing my sketch
regards Orestis:D

Brilliant sketch, Orestis. Really very very good. I am well impressed. And I love your comment about just taking in the Milky Way. It's something I often do during sessions and always after I've put my scope away. And I just sigh.

Thanks for the comments,

A session is not complete without taking in the true splendour of the milky way.Its always a great way to finish off.

Thanks Suzy,

I strongly recomend that you try sketching.you don't have to be an artist to sketch:D and in terms of materials you don't need much if you want me to give a run down of how i sketch pm me.

Regards Orestis:thumbsup:
