Here's the centrepiece of this morning's effort. Another glorious day!

The usual SM40, ED80, B1200, DMK 41AU02.AS, Registax 5, PS CS3.

I also have some higher res stuff (2x barlow) to post as I process it.:)

Al,

Very nice indeed, I had the pleasure of observing this myself, seems that things are starting to heat up again

Thanks Trent.

It is good to see some action happening on Sol.

That's a couple of nice images for the weekend Al! Looks like it might be time to get some Baader solar film for my scope...

Cheers,
Stephen

Thanks Steve. Yeah, I reckon now's a good time to be getting into solar observing/imaging.

Here's a few more high magnification images - these all have a 2x barlow in the train. I'm still experimenting with process settings and wavelets to extract the data with minimal artifacts at this scale.

Hi Al
A great summary of the day!
Your full disc shot(s) are fantastic!

Thanks Theo and Matt.

Yes, I am happy with the full disc shots. The higher res ones I think I'm pushing the SM40 too far, but I'm not giving up yet just in case there's something I can learn in the processing. I think I'm getting better but I suspect that in the end I really just need a bigger Ha filter!
