First DS in ages.
Dew and focuser tilt problems for a few hours with the
QHY-8 so I did this quick set with the DSI Pro II Mono.
Captured from inside using remote desktop over the LAN
to the dome. Outside temp got down to 6C.
Not quite as good as my only other attempt here (http://jfbo.webs.com/ngc1655resize_all323_crop_rotate_qm _keller_sharpen_auto.jpg) and here (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showpost.php?p=508200&postcount=1) but
good to get something after a few months away from imaging.

Not bad, but yeah, not quite as good as the others. That's just rust:):P

Nice to see you back Steve, the frustration and tech issues aside, good to see you get a capture with all the mucking around.

Back in the saddle, nice to get a bit of time to tinker with your gear. Not as good as the usual younused to put out though. Probably just a time factor,
Be interesting to see how the qhy8 shapes up. I did use one on my 12 inch for a while but there were a whole bunch of issues that seemed insurmountable at the time....... Happy to discuss if you want input.
I've been out of the imaging loop for a while myself, closed the old observatory due to light pollution issues, built a new one, went for a roll off building this time. Will get back to it soon hopefully. Although have gone to a much shorter FL.
Be watching to see how things shape up
Cheers Clive

Very nice image Steve and good to see your mount tracking working 10/10.

Steve, I like the photo it has plenty of detail in the galaxy arms.

Thank you all for your replies, cheers.
Clive, if there is one thing I appreciate it's honesty :)
Not bad for a Seyfert, Cartes says it is mag 13 or so but the brighter arms show easily on these Seyferts. On my outside CRT I can't see the faint outer arms at all but on the inside laptop I can. A message there about properly calibrated monitors :)
The outer arms are the challenge for another night of better seeing,
tracking and the DSI II.
Yep it's good to be imaging again even only to get an average result.
I appreciate the offers about the 12" tips etc Clive....I'll be in touch mate.

Nice detail for a faint object. We finally got a couple of nights of clear skies but the seeing was only good last night.
