Thanks Louie,

I forgot to mention that my little girl made me a little refractor out of a paper roll and some sticks.
It's so sweet. She's only 7 and loves telescopes (like her dad).

I got hanging hooks for I am guessing my next project (hanging pots under new patio area) also got a patio broom for the dust it collects, a $50 bunnings gift voucher for potting mix and finally, I got a back massager (one that vibrates only), for when I finish the above jobs.

I did however buy myself an angle grinder three days before xmas though. (dont think the wife knows yet though, was only $35) Good thing about getting it yourself at least you know you will like it :D Next item is probably a router with a circle making jig.

Nice to see Santa was kind to the Starry-eyed community. He gave to me Robert Geeves book "Introduction to Digital Astrophotography", and "Meteorites - A Journey through Space and Time" to add some more knowledge to my now 12 months old hobby. Might need one of those "singing all dancing massage cushions" to relax and read!

Best of all is a little book "Spirit of the Night Sky"
Written by Laksar Burra
He is is the bloke who does the night sky tours at the "Sounds of Silence" resturant at Uluru in the NT.
I am sure I will get lots of good material for my own "Tours", from reading about the stories he tells.
Got a few gadgets & stuff too.

;) ;) ;) I got a canon EOS350 from ebay for $150.00 ;) ;) that he gave to Santa to give to me. Now if Santa learns how to use a computer, he may not believe me that such bargains are to be found on ebay. :o must be a cheap imitation. :wink2:

My son sent me a book about Antarctica, came across a bit about the memorial at Observation Hill to Sir Robert Falcon Scott and his party.
On it is carved a line by Alfred Lord Tennyson which I thought would make a great dobbers motto.

“to strive, to seek, to find and not to yield.”

beren

That would be interesting , the stories of exploration of Antarctica provide incrediable stories of feats {Amundsen} Tragedy {Scott} gallantry and survival {Shackleton/Mawson}
'Had we lived I should have had a tale to tell of the hardihood, endurance and courage of my companions which would have stirred the heart of every Englishman'-Scott

Got a Lymax SCT cooler and a DVD titled Space narrated by Sam Neil :)
