Telescope currently under offer. Not available at present.

D21 Shenton Park is considering a telescope upgrade, and invites expressions of interest from readers who may be interested in the acquiring this legendary C14 OTA and accessories.

The system is comes complete with the Optec TCF-S3 focuser, and the new Optec NextGen 3" focal reducer.

There have been considerable modifications to the telescope - including a custom made aluminium dew shield, custom made full length Losmandy dovetail plates and counter weights (the new top full length plate is not shown on the photos at the link below).

It includes the Bisque Locking collar (with access hatch), "Flop Stoppers", "Bob's Knobs", Finderscope, a never used two inch Celestron diagonal, and last but not least - the "Homeyer Cradle" for the most rigid mounting of this telescope known to man.

In short, there is virtually nothing else that could make this OTA any more impressive. It is in immaculate condition, and has been professionally cared for throughout its life.

Pictures and information on the telescope's history can be found at the D21 blog at www.jazzistentialism.com

I'd be looking at replacement cost for the C14 OTA minus some amount (yet to be decided). The Optec gear is brand new (replaced recently as part of upgrades) - as are recent Losmandy additions. As such they would likely be priced accordingly. Apologies for the lack of a firm price - as mentioned I'm just testing the waters at this stage.

Thanks for looking.

Paul

H Allan.

It's a 2005 model - the 'grey' was replaced in 2008 - when the tubes were powder coated white as part of a full overhaul. A purely cosmetic decision. Telescopes should be white, shouldn't they ? :-)
