Well I put my order in with the big guy for 10/10 seeing but I got 5/10 instead.:confuse3:

Better than a kick in the back-side I guess. :)

6" refractor & toucam.

Great pic John for 5/10 seeing!!! I can still make out Cassinis Division and surface detail!!

I've currently got 9.5/10 Transparency and 2/10 seeing. Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star!

Fog is coming in :o

Hi Asi, yeh my dream run of seeing ended on Christmas eve too with around 4-5/10 on mars. I blame the big guys sleigh for kicking up a fair bit of atmospheric turbulence - visiting every hous in the worl in one night must kick up a fair jet stream all by itself

nice image all the same.

cheers mate,

another good one!

well done on 3000 posts mate,

merry xmas!

a lovely morning viewing only with the 5mm vixen and ultrawide, no imaging, and the jetstream was shocking!

i spent 45 minutes tracking this planet this morning and could not get the cassini division or surface details

another 45 minutes on jupiter.

Mirror was within 1 to 2 degrees, i noticed colimation was out and it helped a bit with jupiter, but even still, the streams were ripping across the surface and then it would settle and out would pop the bands.

When the seeing as really bad, the colour abberations showed themselves ie red at the top of mars and blue at the bottom, but when the seeing was better, it evened itself out.

I will make a focusser attachment like yours today and give it a rip tonight.

I got to see two of the leo triplets
