dumbell and ?

i finally got to use telescope after three mouths.just some quick shots 2x5min exp using Nikon d90 and gso rc8 ota. the dumbell neb and the i don't know the name of the Galaxy in the second shot

Hi Shane,

Not sure whether this was meant to be a quiz as to the identity of the galaxy, but I reckon it is NGC 7213 in Grus about 16' SE of Al Nair (Alpha Gruis).

no its not a guiz i just dont know its name intill i get home tonight and look it up :)

If you where taking shots in the northern sky, It could be ngc 404 close to Beta Andromeda, but the star looks like the wrong colour.

unimap agrees with Les, using Alnair as a hint. It was very quick.
