First guided shot - ETA Carinae

It's not the best & I'm only a newbie DSO imager so I'll wack her in the newb section:D

ED80/400D/manual guided/11'36" of data/1600 ISO/No darks flats or anything.

Great effort, keep em coming. The details in there are fantastic, colours are subtle too, how many subs and what length were they?

Not sure of what 11'36" means exactly.

Thanks guys - Sorry Chris; 11 mins 36 secs of data. I had no idea what the length of each exposure was while I was capturing, anything over 30 secs I have to manual capture. I don't have the timed remote so it's either count in your head or just capture as long as you want lol. No time for counting when you're manual guiding.

I can tell you now that I've got each sub in front of me.

94 sec
81 sec
88 sec
178 sec
122 sec
119 sec

Pretty respectable image of Eta John. Some longer exposures will lift the amount of nebulosity but focus and detail look very good. Nice start into the dark side John.

The ED80 is an awesome scope.

See if you can find a cheap timer on ebay for the 400D.

Nice shot, John. Good colour, plenty of detail and the stars look OK too:)

As Doug said, once you get the exposures going for a bit longer, you'll get better detail and S/N. Will pay to invest in an autoguider...manual is alright but having to labour about an ep' for too long whilst you're trying to take piccies is very hard work!!!. No good on the ol' peepers:)

That's a lovely sharp image, John. More exposure would bring out more of the nebulosity, but well done.
