iPad app: "3D Sun"
Hi all
I realise that this forum dedicates itself to visual astronomy, which is why I thought I'd mention this app here. It's not so much about the software, but the service provided to solar observers. It's from a developer who has incorporated imagery from NASAs heliophysics division, who have been involved with their input. It basically informs you, in real time, of solar events as they are occurring. I just heard a chirp from my iPad and it told me that there was a towering blast to look at - right now.
Very cool indeed. I just wish that I had a PST or Lunt to take advantage of the notifications! :(
