Had a few nights at Marcoola on the Sunshine Coast (not much sunshine:(
Had very limited photography opportunities due to the rain. The airport was across the road,I managed to find a good observing spot and took this photo
of Boeing 737 at take off,with a 50D and 17-55 lens.It was a bit dull.I lightened
the image in PP.
Thanks for looking,Chris

It's a great spot for plane shots isn't it Chris.
I think I need to study physics, I just don't get how something that huge can fly?
Nice shot btw.

Nice shot, Chris:)
Jeanette, it's all about a balance between lift, drag and gravity...all mitigated by differences in air pressure generated by forward motion and the shape of the wing:):)

The same laws apply to Paper Planes and "hand surfing" out a car window. LOL
I just find it hard to relate them to something a big as an aeroplane.
Nice one Chris, I do wonder how these things get off the ground, and yours is only a baby one.

Great shot Chris!
Lots of happy memories of flying circuits in a trainer at Maroochy. Beautiful green country, mountains and the sea.
You just have to remember not to fly any anticlockwise circuits....

Peter,
After my flight to NZ was cancelled today because of fog, I'm sure you guys are just chicken! Aren't there some fancy electronics flying the plane anyway?????? :screwy::screwy: ;);)
Let's just hope that tomorrow isn't Groundhog Day. At least tomorrow we are flying in something with a kangaroo on the tail.

Yeh! Wonder if he has had 2X RR Trent 92s at takeoff power, or better still 2X GE90-115s, much more impressive than 4X Trent 70s on a full Fat Frog, must be a pain not having 777s in the fleet just now:P
Remember they only fly in defiance of gravity and by the grace of the generous Thrust God!;)
BTW nice pic Chris
Yes - and I bet Peter means the 737 by "light aircraft", not a C172 :)

Hi Chris,
Great shot! I think I recognise your work :) Did you used to get enlarged photos printed at ProPics in Brisbane 9 or 10 years ago? If so I used to make those enlargements for you in the darkroom:thumbsup:
Glad to see you're still snapping away, you must have a great collection by now.
(and if I'm totally mistaken, my apologies)
Cheers,
David.

You do know the Airbus A380 is powered by large rubber bands...the noise you hear is just recorded sound played over large speakers:):P
