Well, after seeing what is possible in the way of CCD Imaging here on IIS, I think I'm going to give it a try...

I have an opportunity to ship a few items over from the USA, as my son will be taking on a new job here in Australia. I can't get my Meade over (he is in Missouri, my scope is in Colorado) but I can purchase a few items and he'll place it in his container shipment.

My question is simple enough. I plan on using my Ultima2k, but need a few items, wedge, hyperstar, oag??. The only item I plan on sourcing here in Australia is a CCD Camera (for the support) and I am thinking of getting the QHY10.

Bear in mind I am new to this, thus would be looking for pro's and con's. I've trolled through the forums relating to QHY and all seems pretty good, except for a frustration here and there...

Thus, the question... anyone try the QHY10 yet? and what do you think?

Hi oicrumit,

I suggest you re-place your thread in the Astrophotography section and change the name to the name of the cam you´re inquiring about.

This is not really beginners equipment and there are folks in the other section that can explain you the molecular mixture of the sensor if you want but here it´s more about webcams and slr´s.

Just a tip;)

Good Luck with shipping your gear, just shipped mine from Melbourne to Auckland - few broken mirrors - but not in my scopes:thumbsup:
