I know I've been laying it on striker pretty thick :D but he can't be all to blame for the last 5 days of this. So own up who else has bought astronomy equipment in SE Qld in the last week or so.

What has everyone else's skies been like?

Yoou do know that you live in the sub tropics don't you? It is meant to rain during this part of the year. While in winter is just bucket's down for us down here. Good opportunity to get some sleep.

But this is supposed to be the most perfect climate in Australia :( , just look at all the advertising
"Queensland. Beautiful one day, astronomically perfect the next"

No Paul, it is "beautiful one day, perfect the next". However, it does have to rain there at some point in time so that it can keep that title. It will clear soon I am sure

It's really uncanny. We had 8 months of next to no rain at all (on record as one of the driest 8 months ever) and the day after I took possesion of my LX in early October, the cloud moved in, and has hung around since.

This is what it looks like outside my "cave tonight. The bright bar in the middle is a post. None of the rainbuckets that appear in the image are on the camera lens.
