Hi guys,

One week ago, i finished my 7th trip in the West of the US, a new and a beautiful adventure of 1 month.

The program of this year was the southwest of Utah, east of California and Oregon.

As the past year, i used my new Nikon D700 full frame digital camera for a second trip after several years using slide films and a Nikon F4 camera.

Deserts, rivers and water falls were the main subject of this trip.

After 5600kms of road with our Dodge Journey 4X4 and after several kms of hike in the wilderness areas, i just began to download, on my web site, the first pictures i've taken over there.

You can see them from my english web page here :

Enjoy !

Warmest Regards,

Florent :)

Florent,

Fabulous, fabulous! Thank you so much for sharing these -- I always look forward to you posting here.

Oregon and the Sierra Nevada is high on my list of places to visit before I expire. What an enchanting place!

Wonderful imagery Florent.

What an amazing place Death Valley must be to visit. I think it's the starkness of it that attracts me, like being on another world.

Cheers

Hi Florent,

Great to see you back here again and fabulous to hear you are still
making these expeditions to the U.S.

Your latest portfolio is extraordinary and there are some fabulous images
there.

That last one in Crater Lake N.P. and the one of Reflection Lake in
Yosemite - Wow!

I've stood there on those salt pans at Badwater in Death Valley and
in fact it was on a road trip heading back into L.A. from there that
the Argo Navis Digital Telescope Computer that we manufacture
was first conceived, so I appreciate your shots both for their aesthetic
beauty and for that personal connection.

Did you, by any chance, get to swing through nearby Joshua Tree National
Park, which has some fabulous scenery as well?

Once again, welcome back and thank you for sharing these fantastic
photos.

Best Regards

Gary

Hi Gary, hi all,

Thank you so much for all your very nice reply. It is also a pleasure to share my work with you. :2thumbs:

West of the US is an incredible part of the world where we can see a large type of landscapes in one trip. For a photographer, this place is extraordinary ! :)

For the lens, i use one Sigma DG EX 12-24 f/4.5-5.6 . At 12mm, this lens gives a field of view of 122°.

For the water falls, rivers and Sand Dunes, i used one Nikon Nikkor 20-35 f/2.8 and one Sigma EX 28-70 f/2.8 .

For the smooth effects and long exposures on the water i used one Hoya Ndx400 grey neutral filter and one Hoya Ndx8 grey neutral filter. Sometimes i used the both on one lens. My time of exposure was between 10sec. and 20sec.

My Nikon D700 was installed on one Velbond CX Mini tripod and i used one Phottix UHF remote control with its UHF receiver to avoid to touch the D700.

I just to add one more picture, Kanarra Creek Fall :

Incredible images, thanks for sharing.

Very vivid and saturated, just how I like them :)

Are any of these shots HDR, or are they all single exposures?

Hi Mike, hi Gary,

Thank you very much once again

All my pictures are not HDR shots. Just single exposures. :)

Same thing for the past year.

Warmest Regards,

Florent :)
