Looking for a recomendation on Astrophotography

Hi All!


I'd like to buy a book about astrophotography with a DSLR, I'm interested in PP software and techniques, histogram stretching, stacking, noise reduction, colour management, the whole enchilada.

I like using DSS, Iris and PS, PixInsight can also be interesting.

It has to be on Amazon so I can order it from Argentina :)

So far I found this one: I read the TOC, not bad but it doesn't use any software from the ones I like and it seems to be a little superficial.

There are plenty of books out there Luis. Michael Covington has a great book called Astrophotography for the Amateur.I've also had the one you linked to. I use the first one far more than the second one, even though its based on film cameras.

I have a number of books that describe astrophotography using both DSLR and CCD and its the one that has the most tags of paper in marking pages. :)

Ty Paul, it seems like a nice book but is far more into capturing than processing. I'm more interested in the processing of the images as my capturing workflow is very simple. I either use a fixed tripod + DSLR or piggyback a telescope. What I want to know is everything that can be done once I took the photos.

If anyone has more suggestions I'm thankful for your time!

In that case have a look at R. Scott Ireland's "Photoshop Astronomy". Its very good. The Zone System by ron Wodaski and Russ Croman is also good but not worth the amount of money being asked
