Hi All,

This is a YAROP (Yet Another Rho Ophiuchus Photo)

I took it from Mercedes Observatory, 100km away from Buenos Aires via Piggybacking the observatory telescope.

Canon 5dII + 100mm F2.8 Macro Lens
5 exposures of 5 minutes each
No darks, no BIAS, no flats
Processed with Deep Sky Stacker + PS.

It's the first time I do a photo with tracking so I'd like to know your advise about piggybacking and settings. Anything you can tell me will help me. I plan to use a 400mm F5.6 next time any special recommendations?

Thanks!

Maybe I did something wrong?

OK if you want feedback then i will give mine - its far too pushed and oversaturated in colours. i dont think you have enought signal there at all to really do this justice. Go for another 3-4 hours or more - it will give you the red you need in the image and help to reduce/remove the noise in the image. At present its far too yellow. i like the framing. With the camera you have go longer - bring up the image slowly in the saturation, or saturate to taste, after all everyone has individual likes/dislikes

Houghy's right. 25 minutes isn't going to get enough signal with an unmodded DSLR. Its a reasonably bright object but still.

What ISO did you use?

Greg.

Thanks for the feedback!
I shot at ISO 1600.
Will definitively go longer next time. 3 or 4 hours is a good idea. Thanks!
