Hi Guys, well as most of you know Alice and myself are going on a big adventure.;)

The 5th Wheeler is here ;) and the Iveco is in Melbourne. being refitted.

This is all good, and we are very excited, however we need a name for our pulling rig.

Hints, we are retired/grand/Ma's/Gr/Pa's. ETC, Old farts/Etc, so go for it

OK, name our truck, there is $50.00 Cash for the name we choose, if we choose one from your response. ;) ;) guaranteed

OK, make a Quid. ;)

Leon

My Alice

I remember reading once and thinking to myself, how sweet and endearing, that you referred to your wife with a "my".
The name can have three meanings- your wife, the town called Alice, or the rig's name.

Hi Leon,

I created a name for my house plaque using the first two letters of my family's first names - Chris, Charlie, Anthony Aidan and Luke and came up with Chanailu, which has a nice ring to it. (dont steal this one!!)

Simple is often the best, with yours, I suggest your name and then the lovely wife's name backwards....put them together and you have:

"LEONECILA" (pronounced Leon-ess-ilah)

This is my number one, other ones I thought of below;

Takin' Our Time

Watwewannado

TONINK - stands for Two-Oldies-No-Income-No-Kids

Well, guys I must thank you all sincerely, the names you suggested were, great, however I have chosen the One from H, Twilight to Starlight, it has a nice ring to it.

I will Incorporated it with the brand name of the rig which is Sundance, made by Heartland in the States.

So it will be something like this:

"SUNDANCE MOVER"

from

"TWILIGHT TO STARLIGHT"

I will get a sign writer to make up some nice visuals maybe a sunset and the breaking dawn, not sure yet but i will let you all know when it is done

Molly mate I would leave tomorrow, however we have a new baby grandchild,:love: the truck to pull this rig will be here on Friday, and the actual unit wont be ready until July 28, so a few more weeks.

Then My Dear Alice needs to help her daughter and new Grand child. :D :D

So it probably will be a couple of months. ;)

That's all good though, it will probably take me that long to get used to this rig, bloody hell it is big. :eyepop:

Leon

Hi Leon,

Forgive the ignorance but why are they called 5th wheelers?

Cheers

Suzy

H's name was my favourite too Leon ;)
Good on you H.

leon
20-07-2010, 10:33 PM
Ric, good question, and I did wonder why, but from my research I discovered that this comes from a long time ago, and the actual 5th wheel comes from the fact that the actual unit is attached to the pulling vehicle attached to the 5th wheel, being the hitch which can turn in any direction on the back of the pulling vehicle.

True I looked it up. ;)

Leon
