Hi all
Haven't actually submitted a DSO pic before but took this quick image on the 20th of NGC3242 Ghost of Jupiter with Mintron integrating video camera and RGB filters. The Moon was up at the time and the subject low in the east but certainly bright enough to achieve a result.

Thanks guys. Ving..I'm interested to see another pic of this PN..what is the thread link to yours and any others here if you know where they are?
trust me steve, you are interested in seeing my ghost of jupiter. i have posted it here... somwhere. I vaguely remember one reply to the thread being "nah! your pulling my leg" or something along that line.
heres the specs: 8" dob (no tracking) afocal thru a 9mm GS EP with a sony dscp31 2mp camera. iso400 1.6 second exposure (cause thats all it'll do).
but just cause you requested it here it is in all its glory...

3242 was the subject of the May imaging challenge! Here's a link to some images..

What a great comparison shot Ving..that was really helpful! :confuse3:
Thanks guys - with a bit more elevation it would have been a lot sharper. Yeah..Ice..thought I'd throw one in from left field.
Tony (Itchy)- Some seriously good DSO shots on your website mate whew! :prey2:
Paul - Yep the Mintron starlight function performs very well as Mick Pinner has recently been discovering. I have a few other samples of video DSO stuff on my webpage

I can basically just fit NGC253 diagonally across the 1/2" CCD model with the 10-inch at f5 and the 1/3" model is great for smaller targets.
well... you asked for it! :P
That's a beautiful shot Steve.
I've made a note to check out this little dude next time I'm out observing.
Thanks for sharing.
