Advice on Nikon Lens please

Using a Nikon to EOS adapter would a Nikon 20mm f2.8 D lens perform successfully on a Canon 40D.

I use all 14 of my Nikkor prime and zoom lenses on my 40D David, with great success. Apart from the lack of autofocus (big deal!) they work wonderfully. The caveat here is that they are all Ai lenses, and have aperture rings. I have a couple of the newer A-FS lenses that alter aperture electronically, so they don't work unfortunately.

Given that the lens you're asking about does have both manual focus and aperture rings it should work without issue.
