Hi all,
Here are a couple of images of a heron that I captured yesterday at the Mt Tamborine Botanic Gardens. Both taken with my K100D and 70-300mm lens. I think these are my best images of this type of heron. Hope you like them!
Cheers,

Nice photo's Stephen:thumbsup: such a graceful Bird but thier call leaves a bit to be desired, but with a long neck like that it would be very hard to get a melodic sound out of it:rolleyes:

Thanks Ron and Baz. I don't remember hearing their call Ron, but I can imagine what it might sound like.

Stephen

Thanks Adam. This bird was so busy concentrating on catching its lunch that it hardly noticed me, so I was able to get fairly close.

:hi:Stephen the call is a strident Kraar,Kraar. quite slowly, but they don't call much.
When they fly at night you can hear them from quite a distance.
They are usually in pairs and can sometimes be seen silhouetted against bright moon if you are lucky:)

Stephen, you have more chance of winning the Lotto than getting a good photo:P
At night thier call call echo's so it is hard to deduce where they are coming from:thumbsup:

Nice Stephen - you may be in danger of becoming a serious bird photographer! The price of a good fast telephoto though! Well done.
